Using Your Benefits

Using benefits is easy! The guide below will inform you how to use all our offered benefits. If you have any questions, please contact Phoenix_1.

Reserved Slot

You have the ability to join the server even when it is full. In order to do this, you must have the console enabled. Instructions on how to enable the console are below. Once you have the console enabled, you can join the server of your choice by entering connect phoenixteam.net:port into the console, where port is the port of the server you want to join. For example, to connect to the 2Fort server enter connect phoenixteam.net:27015 into the console.

Enabling the Console

Follow the provided steps to enable the console

  1. Exit Team Fortress 2, if it is running
  2. Find Team Fortress 2 in your Steam games library list and right-click it
  3. Select "Properties" from the menu
  4. Within the window that pops up, click the "Set Launch Options" button
  5. In the editable field that appears, insert -console
  6. Click "OK" to save the launch options.
  7. Close the Team Fortress 2 Properties window

Note: The console window will appear every time you load the game. To hide the console, simply use the tilde key (~) usually located above the tab key. You can show the console again by pressing tilde again.

Team Balance Immunity

If you have a reserved slot, you also have team balance immunity. Team balance immunity makes sure that you never change teams unless you want to. The autobalance system will never select you as a candidate for team switching. To use this benefit, simply type "!preference red" or "!preference blue" into chat when entering the game to specify which team you prefer.

Bonus Round Immunity

If you have a reserved slot, you also have bonus round immunity (and you need not do anything to activate it). Bonus round immunity is the invulnerability of a losing player after round-end (during the humilation round). Players with bonus round immunity cannot be harmed during the humiliation round by regular players, but may still be harmed by players with a higher immunity level than they have. The current immunity rankings are below. During the humilation round, players can harm anyone with equal or lower rank than their own.
